Parts of a feature: formatting of a feature is similar to that of a news release.

1)      Headline

a)      Informational ( gives the root of the story)

b)      Alliteration (raise the curiosity of the editor or the consumer)

2)      Lead

3)      Body

a)      Direct quoted from people

b)      Concrete examples and illustrations

c)       Basic statistics or research finding

d)      Descriptive words that paint mental pictures

e)      Information presented in an entertaining way

4)      Summary (in many cases, the most important part of the feature)

5)      Photos and Graphics (used to give more appeal)
